What I wore (and some early morning babble)
These next few weeks will be a little scattered for me, as I am at a large college in the US (security measures, haha) taking an Honors Chemistry class condensed into three weeks. Why am I subjecting myself to this torture, you may ask? The unfortunate answer is that at my academically-oriented school, the only way to take an AP science class and still have room for art (and to breathe!) is to surpass the base level of the science required and go right into the AP. This way, I won’t be in two science classes (honors Chem and AP Physics.) I like Math okay, but English and the other humanities are definitely my stronger suit- I can feel that I have to work a little harder and spend a little more time in order to understand the lightning-fast layout of mathematical information every day here than most of my analytically-minded peers. This whiz kid across the hall was done with all his assignments yesterday in an hour…they took me four, and I didn’t study any of the stuff for the quiz on Friday. But I have a firmer grasp on yesterday’s material because I spent so much time on each assignment, reviewing my notes and making new ones.
I just have to keep reminding myself that yesterday in class we covered ten days’ worth of regular class material, and that the huge amount of time I’m spending on the homework is merited. Hard when the rooms all around you are having parties! Maybe I’ll try today to budget my time better in the afternoon so that I have some free time to chill tonight.
It’s 6:30 now and I think I can get in the bathroom- my RA doesn’t seem to realize that I need to blow dry my hair this morning and it might be a good idea to open the bathroom more than 45 minutes before we leave for breakfast.
*edit* couldn’t finish uploading the picture before I had to leave– just got back from class and today was a lot better! We didn’t get a ton of homework, but I’m looking forward to spending some alone time digesting all the new information.
That was a lot more about my camp than I planned to write, sorry. Here’s an outfit I wore having lunch with my mom last Sunday:
One Star for Target button down, Aerie tie-front shorts, shoes from Bakers that I got for $15 at Buffalo Exchange with my cousin in Phoenix, thrifted Dooney & Bourke purse, and Urban Outfitters sunglasses.
I like how the subtle colors and natural textures in this outfit are polished by the glam sunglasses. Definitely a look I will repeat!
That’s all for now, I have homework to do… I’m going to try and wake up early every other day and write. It’s really relaxing.
